For more information on Ancillary Data and SPICE for ESA Planetary Missions, please go to http://spice.esac.esa.int For any question or suggestion on this dataset, please contact: Marc Costa Sitja, marc.costa@esa.int ESA SPICE Service, esa_spice@sciops.esa.int Introduction -------------------------------------------------------- This document provides an overview of the Rosetta Orbiter ancillary data set for the complete mission, including a complete description of the volume structure. Additional documents included on this archive provide more details. This data set contains navigation, housekeeping telemetry, time correlation packets, other related observation geometry and other ancillary data for the ROSETTA Orbiter which was used to generate the SPICE Kernel Dataset. The Orbiter and Comet trajectories and orientations and Time Correlation Packets are provided by the Rosetta Mission Operations Cente (RMOC) located at ESOC. The Housekeeping telemery has been processed by the Rosetta Sicence Groung Segment (RSGS) at ESAC. All files are .ROS or .TAB files. Pleaes note that this archive does not include SPICE files (kernels). If a desired geometry quantity is not present in this archive and the usage of the SPICE Kernel Dataset or the SPICE Archive is not an option we encourage the user to use the WebGeocalc tool (WGC): http://spice.esac.esa.int/webgeocalc/ WGC provides a web-based graphical user interface to many of the observation geometry computations available from the SPICE system. A WGC user can perform SPICE computations without the need to write a program; the user need have only a computer with a standard web browser. Content of this directory -------------------------------------------------------- Each subdirectory within this directory contains all the ancillary data the same origin that have been generated for the ExoMars2016 Mission. fdy: files generated by the Flight Dynamics group of ESOC that contain position, shape and orientation for the spacecraft and the comet; hkt: housekeeping telemetry files processed by the RSGS Downlink group at ESAC to compute measured attitude, solar array and HGA orientation of the spacecraft; tcp: Binary files that contain time correlation packets for the spacecraft; doc: documents that provide explanations and details of the data in the other directories. Please refer to the aareadme.txt in each of the subdirectories for information on the contents for the specific type of data and the corresponding naming conventions. File Formats -------------------------------------------------------- All text documents and other meta information files such as descriptions, PDS object definitions and detached PDS labels are text files, with a carriage return (ASCII 13) and a line feed character (ASCII 10) at the end of each line. This allows the files to be read by MS-DOS/Windows, Unix and MacOS operating systems. The volume also contains binary files. ------------------- This file was last modified on June 26th, 2019 by Marc Costa Sitja.
