Gaia CK files

     This ``aareadme.txt'' file describes the contents of the kernels/ck
     directory of the Gaia SPICE Kernel Dataset.

     It was last modified on February 05, 2024 by Rafael Andres, ESAC/ESA.


Brief Summary
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

     CK (Camera-Matrix Kernel) files contain time varying orientation for
     the Gaia spacecraft, its structures, and science instruments.


Data Origin
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

     Please note that the data used to generate the CK kernels present in this
     directory has been obtained with the ``Tool  for  Auxiliary  Scientific
     Calculations'' a web service makes available Flight Dynamics data to
     external users.

Current CK Kernels Set
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    gaia_sc_ssp_YYYYMMDD_YYYYMMDD_fYYYYMMDD_vNN.bc

       SPICE CK file that contains Gaia predicted attitude. The file
       is generated by the ESA SPICE Service using data from the TASC
       tool.

    gaia_sc_ssm_YYYYMMDD_YYYYMMDD_fYYYYMMDD_vNN.bc

       SPICE CK file that contains Gaia measured attitude. The file
       is generated by the ESA SPICE Service using data from the TASC
       tool.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

     The most detailed description of the data in a binary CK file is
     provided in metadata included inside the comment area of the file.

     SPACIT included in the NAIF Toolkit.
